Heading north over the Auckland Harbour Bridge to a New Zealand farmyard you get to feed snacks to the friendly animals and get to learn about them too. Meet favorites such as calves, pigs, lambs, goats, ponies, deer and donkeys plus more exotic alpacas, emus, possums,mini horses and Indian Ring-necked Parakeets.
You will learn first hand about New Zealand’s sheep farming in our fascinating and entertaining one hour presentation - featured in numerous TV shows and magazine articles worldwide.
The live demonstration begins with the sheepdogs rounding up and bringing in the sheep, which are then sorted and shorn. Our experienced presenters are full of facts and explain what is happening throughout. Learn about New Zealand Wool and explore a 400 metre journey of discovery through beautiful native bush, wetlands and streams. Learn about the preservation and regeneration program through interactive displays that help bring NZ's natural wonders to life.
We have a short stop at the hidden gem of Parry Kauri Park, with its 600 year and 800 year old kauri trees. There is a short board walk where you can experience New Zealand native bush and birdlife. Sullivans Bay – Mahurangi Regional Park. This is a superb example of one of our East Coast beaches and features stunning views of the coast on the drive in.
The historic village of Puhoi where you can imagine how it was to live here in the 1800’s. See the Historic Hotel and the tiny Library built by the early Bohemian settlers.
Travelling back to Auckland via the coast road with a stop at the beach town of Orewa for an ice-cream or coffee.
